Empowering Young Females in their Engineering Careers

YCEM, established in 2021, by diverse female engineers across the globe is dedicated to empowering young females into their engineering careers. Our mission is to bridge the gender gap in engineering and technology by community where female engineers thrive and help each other. We achieve this through a workshop training, mentorship, online webinars, fostering a supportive ecosystem for the future of young females in technology.

At YCEM, we recognize that diversity in engineering, spanning a wide array of domains including software, AI/ML, food engineering, materials, cloud engineering, and research, leads to innovation. We are proud of our diverse team, representing various engineering domains, and we’re here to encourage every young girl who desire to be an engineer. OurStory

At YCEM, we are on a mission to empower the future of engineering by providing unwavering support and guidance to young women as they embark on their journey in science, technology, engineering. Our journey began in 2021 with a simple yet powerful vision: to create a community where females are well-informed about the diverse engineering careers and are supported to thrive in the right fields tailored to their skills and interest.

From our first event at the Accra Girls’ SHS, we have been organizing online webinars on diverse engineering fields, outreaches to schools to organise hands-on training on robotics and career workshops, and establishing a fellowship to develop closer relationship with these girls. Each initiative is designed to ignite the passion and potential of young women in the field of engineering and to serve as an inspirational representation. Our story stands as a testament to the transformative impact of a shared purpose, unwavering dedication, and the belief that every young woman can make meaningful contributions to the innovation and progress of technology.



Our Mission

The mission of YCEM is to develop a community where aspiring female engineers are mentored by high-quality engineers, trained to be well-skilled engineers in both hard and soft skills, supported, and exposed to opportunities necessary in enhancing their strengths as individuals and engineers to effectively thrive in engineering roles and inspire younger females.



The vision of YCEM is to establish a world-class network of diverse female engineers and aspiring female engineers that inspires and empowers the next generation of female engineers to be well equipped in skills to successfully bridge the gender gap in engineering and technology.
